The Sodality of Drifters

The space between the Synod's reach and the cartels' grip is called the drift — and the men and women who make their living there are the Sodality.

What They Do

  • Salvage — the drift is littered with derelict stations, abandoned mining rigs, and the wreckage of Schism skirmishes. Drifters strip them for parts, fuel, and occasionally pre-Schism Chroma artifacts that the Synod would kill to recover.
  • Smuggling — the Sodality maintains a network of neutral drift lanes that serve as corridors for refugees, contraband, and information. They don't carry dust (the cartels own that trade) but they'll carry anything else for the right price.
  • Relic Running — pre-Schism Chroma artifacts are the most valuable salvage in the drift. The Synod wants them seized; the Order wants them preserved; the Choir wants them weaponized. Drifters sell to whoever pays and ask no questions.

Captain-Marshal Ren Vosk

Vosk is less a leader than a negotiator — a scarred half-elf salvage pilot who has survived three Synod blockades, two cartel wars, and one direct encounter with a Choir frequency-wielder that left her permanently unable to hear the Chroma. She is, by all accounts, the only person in the drift that every faction will still talk to.
