The empire's crowning city — a sprawl of white-stone cathedrals, guild warehouses, and the Amber Palace where Empress Sylvara III watches her merchants war over the forest's edge.
Galthra sits on a limestone bluff overlooking the Gilt Marches, its skyline dominated by the Synod's sun-catcher (a golden dome that burns with reflected light at midday) and the spiked towers of the guildhall. The streets are a warren of narrow alleys where couriers run messages between noble houses and guild factors, and the city's walls are studded with the trophies of past campaigns — ironwood beams, amber-glass windows, trophies taken from outlaws and druids alike. Outsiders call it arrogant; its citizens call it the centre of the world. Both are right.
