Questions, answered straight

What an AI Game Master is, how the dice stay honest, what you can build and share, and what it costs. If your question isn't here, the how-it-works tour covers the whole machine.

The basics

What is an AI Game Master?

An AI Game Master is an AI that runs a tabletop RPG for you — narrating scenes, playing every NPC, and reacting to whatever you try. On MyAdventures.AI the AI never does the bookkeeping: a real rules engine rolls the dice, tracks your inventory and remembers what happened, so the story stays honest.

Can I play a 5e game solo with an AI Game Master?

Yes. The built-in 5e-Compatible system implements the SRD 5.1 rules — character creation, skills, spells, combat and levelling. Make a hero in minutes and the AI Game Master runs everything else: the world, the monsters, and every other character at the table.

Does the AI fudge dice rolls?

It can’t. Every check, attack and save goes through a rules engine outside the AI — the AI asks for a roll, the engine rolls it, and you watch each die land live. The AI then narrates the result it was given, success or failure.

Do I need to know the rules to play?

No. Describe what you want to try in plain words and the Game Master picks the right mechanic, rolls for you, and explains what happened. Suggested actions are always one tap away, and the character builder walks you through creation step by step.

Can my character die?

Yes. The dice are real, so the danger is too — the Game Master can’t fudge a roll to save you or to doom you. Retreat, parley, clever plans and loyal companions are all genuine options, and they matter because failure is possible.

Building & sharing

What game systems are built in?

Two. A 5e-Compatible fantasy system built on the freely-licensed SRD 5.1, and Starpath, an original gritty sci-fi system with 2d20-style skill checks and a Momentum pool. Both ship complete: gear catalogues, bestiaries, and ready-to-play starting kits.

Can I create my own rules system?

Yes. Define your own attributes, skills, dice, combat, advancement and currency in the ruleset workshop — or duplicate a built-in system and change what you like. Your ruleset drives everything at the table: character creation, the dice the engine rolls, and which mechanics the AI may use.

Can I build my own world?

Yes. Sketch geography, factions, calendars and history in the world workshop, or let the AI co-author draft them with you — it proposes, you approve, and nothing changes without your say. Worlds carry a linked lore wiki, hex maps and a content library every story can draw on.

How does the AI remember what happened?

Everything the AI establishes — an item’s powers, an NPC’s grudge, a hard fact about the world — is recorded the moment it’s invented and treated as authoritative ever after. Important truths become permanent canon; day-to-day events live in an episodic memory the Game Master recalls when they matter.

Can other people play what I build?

Yes. Publish a ruleset, world or story and it appears on Discover, where anyone can play it or fork their own copy to remix. Your original stays yours — forks are separate copies, and you choose what’s public.

The adventure

What can I actually do in an adventure?

Anything you can say. Explore the overworld hex by hex, wander towns and dungeons, talk your way through trouble, trade with merchants, pick up loot the world remembers, recruit companions, and fight when talk breaks down. The Game Master improvises the story; the engine keeps it all real.

Is there tactical combat?

Yes. Fights snap onto a battle grid with real positions, movement, cover, and light — torches matter in the dark. Enemies take morale checks and fight to their own tactics, companions follow your orders, and every attack and save is rolled by the engine in the open.

Can I travel by ship — or spaceship?

Yes. Vessels are real places you walk around, not fast-travel screens: sail between ports with your cabin and cargo intact, and in sci-fi settings board starships and space stations the same way. Sea lanes and star maps are part of the world’s geography.

Can I bring a party?

Yes. Start an adventure with up to four companions or recruit them along the way. They hold formation in combat, take your orders, carry their own sheets and gear, and the story remembers how you treat them.

Account & pricing

Is MyAdventures.AI free?

Free to start — create an account and play with no card required. Paid plans are on the way and will add premium AI models, image generation and a monthly ink allowance; during the preview you can redeem ink codes on your account.

What is ink?

Ink is the credit that powers the AI — every turn you play and everything you generate draws it down. You get ink to start, subscriptions will include a monthly allowance that rolls over, and one-time packs never expire.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. MyAdventures.AI runs in the browser with nothing to install, and the table is built to play well on desktop, tablet and phone. Your adventure lives on the server, so you can pick up on any device exactly where you left off.
