The obsidian seat at the heart of the Cimmerian Deep where the Old Gods were cast down — now the epicenter of the Blight, radiating consuming darkness outward into the mortal world through every tear in reality.
At the center of the Cimmerian Deep — in a darkness so absolute it has weight — stands the Black Throne. It is not a structure built but a wound: a fracture in the fabric of existence where Phaethon drove the eclipsed Old Gods during the final battle of the Age of Dusk. The Throne is both prison and font — the Old Gods are chained within it, and from their suffering, the Blight bleeds.\n\nThe Throne's nature is debated by the few scholars who dare study it. The Radiant Order teaches that it is a seal, holding the darkness contained; if the Throne were destroyed, the Blight would consume everything. The Embergrove Compact believes the opposite — that the Throne is the source of the Blight, and that freeing the Old Gods would end the darkness, not unleash it.\n\nNeither may be entirely right. What is certain: the Throne is growing. Each Blight-Tear that opens in the mortal world connects back to it, and each Flare-Touched eruption sends a pulse of stolen light into the Deep — feeding something that sits upon the Throne and stirs.
