Plot threads

The Rootbound's Schemestarts active

A radical faction of the Rootbound cult, led by the mage Vethris, has awakened the ancient golem to destroy Thornwall – a stronghold they see as a symbol of imperial greed. They believe that by crushing it, the Heartwood will reclaim the borderlands and drive out the Aurean Empire.

Stakes: If unresolved, Thornwall is destroyed, the border collapses, and the Empire blames the Thornwood Covenant, sparking a war that will ravage the region for years.
